New Application, Open, Close

These menu items open a dialog box where you can create new applications or copy, open, share, or close existing applications.

Import/Export Application

You can find information about importing and exporting applications here.

Publish Application

Opens a submenu with the various options for version control, with or without Git. You can find all the information here.

Create an entry in the application history

Opens a dialog box where changes that have been saved but not recorded in the application history can be added to the history retroactively.

Save Application Locally

Saves the currently open state locally or on the server. No application data is transferred in this process. The file created in this way, with the *.ixapp extension, can be loaded later via the File / Open Application option in the main menu.

Delete Application

Opens a dialog box where existing applications can be deleted.

Publish Layout Files

This menu option publishes only the application-specific layout files.

Recently Opened Applications

The most recently opened applications are listed above the "Exit" menu item. They can be downloaded directly from here.

Exit

You can find all the information about this menu item here.

Edit

In this main menu, some menu items are only accessible when certain elements are selected. For example, the "Group" menu option is only available when multiple items are selected on the workspace.

Undo

You can use this command to undo individual editing steps. The size of the history (number of editing steps) is set in the main menu under "Tools / Options. "

Repeat

This command allows you to restore individual editing steps that were previously undone.

Parent Folder, Child Folder, Edit Folder, Delete Folder, Create New Post

Copy

All elements and pages can be copied to the clipboard. The settings will be retained.

Copy Page with Permissions

The page will be copied with the page permissions set in the application properties.

Insert

Copied items are pasted from the clipboard. Inserting elements with all defined properties can only be done within the same data group.

Delete

The selected item will be deleted.

Copy Grid Structure

Copies the grid without any content. Contained elements are not copied.

Set the focus

This menu is accessible from the following items:

The element on which the menu is displayed has focus when the corresponding page loads.

It is indicated by a corresponding icon in the Applications module on the desktop.

Copy / Apply View

This menu allows you to copy the display properties of the currently selected item.

Next, select the element to which you want to apply the copied view using the "Apply View" menu, and then select the "Apply View" menu.

Apply View

"Style Class" applies only to the style class. If only the style class is applied, any previously defined customizations will be retained. "Custom Adjustments" applies only to custom adjustments. If only the individual customizations are applied, the style class that has already been defined remains unchanged. "Do not show this message again until the next time view properties are copied" prevents the dialog from appearing when you apply a view until you copy a control's view again.

Move to hidden area

This menu moves the selected item to the hidden area.

Create a template

Creates a template for new elements based on the properties of the selected element.

Show Links

This feature displays all links between an element and other elements in the search window (e.g., pages with buttons that load other pages).

Features

This menu item opens the Properties dialog box for the currently selected element.

Details

This menu item is only available if the "Enable expert options" setting is selected in the "Tools / Options" section of the main menu.

Group

The elements marked on the workspace are grouped together.

Ungroup

The grouping is removed.

Edit Script

This menu item opens the script editor for editing

  • JavaScript for Desktop

  • JavaScript for Mobile Devices

  • Velocity Script

  • Groovy script

Open.

Home

Clicking this menu item sets the currently selected page as the app's home page.

Create a Title

This menu option creates a "Static Text" element that contains the title of the selected element and can be used as the element's label.

Show Elements / Hide Elements

Shows or hides the elements of a page in the application structure. The Properties dialog for a page element can also be accessed here via the "Edit" main menu or by double-clicking. When a page element is selected in the application structure, it is also highlighted on the workspace.

Show Data Fields / Hide Data Fields

Shows or hides data fields and references for a data group in the application structure.

Tab Index

Opens a dialog box where you can define a tabindex.

Tab Index

In a browser, users can use the TAB key to move from one input field to the next. This order is set via the "Tabindex" menu.

Elements without a tabindex

This list shows all the elements that can be selected for the tabindex. Read-only items are displayed in italics. They can also be included in the tabindex.

Elements with a tabindex

These elements are selected one after another in the browser when the TAB key is pressed. You can change the order of the items in this list using drag-and-drop.

Add an element to the tabindex order / Remove an element from the tabindex order

Moves the selected item to the other list.

Move up / down

Changes the order.

Edit Web Services

This menu item takes you to the Web Services settings dialog.

Make the margin smaller / larger

This menu reduces or enlarges the border area of the grid element on the workspace.

Set to original size

This menu displays an image embedded in the "Image" element on the workspace at its original dimensions.

Create a shortlist

For view tables, this menu option can be used to create a preselection.

Delete Preselection

The preselection will be deleted.

Left / Right

These menu options are used to change the order—and thus the priority—of preselections in a view table. The following rule applies: The further to the left a preselection is positioned in the table, the higher its priority. For example, if you apply a preselection to customer data that filters all customers with the country code "DE" and place it on the far left, all preselections to the right of it will be applied to the filter results of that first preselection. Additional filters will therefore only include customers with the country code "DE."

Edit Layout / Edit for Mobile Devices

For each application, this menu allows you to define custom styles for desktops or mobile devices, which are also included when the application is exported.

Design Guidelines for Elements

Opens a dialog box where you can edit padding and custom style classes for elements in table-less layouts.

Reduce the size of the grid

You can reduce the size of the workspace grid using this menu option.

Enlarge grid

The workspace grid is enlarged.

New

As an alternative to the toolboxes and context menus in the application structure, all elements of an application can also be created using this main menu. This main menu appears when an item is selected in the application structure.

Page Assistant

The Page Wizard will help you create new pages.

Form Wizard

The Form Wizard helps you design pages.

Copy GUID

This function allows you to copy the GUID of the following elements to the clipboard when they are selected in the application structure:

  • Application

  • Page

  • Data Group

  • Data Field

  • Reference

  • Reference Data Field

Copy Name

This function allows you to copy the names of the following elements to the clipboard when they are selected in the application structure:

  • Data Group

  • Data Field

  • Reference Data Field

View page with elements

This menu allows you to create a view page from an input page that contains all the elements of the input page as view elements. The display elements are then already linked to the corresponding data field and are in the same position where they were placed on the input page.

View

In this menu, you can show or hide the individual sections of the "Applications" module.

Restore Default View

Restores all panes to their original layout.

Application

Export / Import Text

This menu option exports all labels or titles of an application's elements in either CSV, XLS, or XML format. This feature can be used to translate applications into other languages.

Language Constants

Opens the dialog box for managing language constants.

Refresh

Layout attributes (styles) can be assigned to individual elements using the "View" tab. If you have an application open for editing and switch to the "Design" module to change style properties there, the modified attributes will not be available in the "Applications" module until you have refreshed the application.

Permissions

Opens a dialog box where you can configure the application permissions.

View License

This menu item is active when a licensed application is open. Here you can find information about the publisher and details regarding the license.

Application History

Opens a dialog box displaying the history of the currently open application.

Comparison with the last entry in the application history

Opens a dialog box that compares the current status with the most recent entry in the history.

Comparison with the entry in the application history

Opens a dialog box where the current status can be compared with entries in the history.
