Installation

To use Intrexx Share 3.5.0, you need at least Intrexx version 12.0.0.

If you want to update an Intrexx Share version older than Intrexx Share 3.3.0, please install all Intrexx Share versions that have been released in the meantime, one after the other. Skipping versions can lead to errors.

Please note that older versions of Intrexx Share (up to and including Intrexx Share 3.1) cannot be used with Intrexx version 12.1.0 or later. Intrexx version 12.1.0 and later is not compatible with older versions.

WebSockets - Settings in IIS / NGINX

WebSocket technology is a resource-efficient alternative to polling in Intrexx Share and is automatically enabled once the Intrexx Share import is complete.

If you are using IIS, you must configure certain settings in IIS. You can find instructions on how to do this here. Alternatively, WebSockets can be disabled in the Intrexx Share settings, which will automatically revert to using polling technology.

Safari - without WebSockets
If you are using Intrexx Share with active WebSockets and integrated authentication or Basic authentication, you cannot use the "Safari" web browser. If you still want to use "Safari," disable "WebSockets" in Share's settings ( Administration). After that, polling technology is used automatically.

Default User for Event Sources in Processes

Before you begin the installation, please make sure that a default user for event sources in processes is specified in the portal properties under "Processes," since all processes run in the context of the default user.

Import Intrexx Share

Intrexx Share can be imported into any portal as usual. You can find all the information you need here: Import Applications.

The "Import with Permissions" and "With Portlet Grid Data" settings are usually already selected during import and should remain selected to ensure that Intrexx Share functions properly.

Copy the "40-share-chat-context.xml" file to the portal directory

After the import, please proceed as follows:

  • In the Intrexx Share installation package, you'll find the file "40-share-chat-context.xml" in the "internal/cfg/spring" folder.

  • Copy this file to the portal directory "internal/cfg/spring" and then restart the portal service.

Deleting Specific Processes When an Older Version of Intrexx Share Is Overwritten During Import

After importing, you will find all Intrexx Share processes in the "Processes" module. The "Share - Initialization" process runs automatically exactly once immediately after the import. He sets up the navigation and categories for the profile skills. The process then deactivates automatically. It should not be restarted.

Starting with Intrexx version 12.0.0:

If you overwrite an earlier version of Intrexx Share when importing with Intrexx 3.5.0, 3.4.0, or Intrexx Share 3.3.1, please delete the old processes afterward

Share - Group <-> File Storage
Share - Groups <-> Chat

if any are available.

If, in addition to the most recent initialization process (e.g., Share 3.5.0 - Initialization), there are other older processes named Share <corresponding version number> - Initialization, these must also be deleted.

Do not delete the most recent initialization process! This will still be needed.

Starting with Intrexx version 12.2.0

Intrexx Share User Group

The " Intrexx Share User " user group is automatically created starting with Intrexx version 12.2.0 to simplify the management of user access rights to Intrexx Share.

Portlets

In the portlet settings, you can manually set the "Standard Frame " value under " Layout " for each Intrexx Share user, if this has not already been done.

For general information on how to access the portlet settings in your portal and how to embed portlets on portal pages, see here: Portlets.

You can find information about the Intrexx Share portlets here: Intrexx Share Portlets.
