IIS (Internet Information Services)

Internet Information Services is a web server developed by Microsoft.

In the context of Intrexx, IIS is used on Windows as a front-end web server (reverse proxy).

There are many reasons why using a reverse proxy is recommended. In particular, an existing Windows authentication can be used for portal access via a reverse proxy.
