Creating Applications - Key Steps

Below is an overview of the key steps you typically need to follow when creating an application.

For each step, you'll find a link that takes you to the corresponding section in the online help.

	Applications are based on templates. To create an application, you must first select a template. Read more Intrexx provides you with a range of application templates. You can find the application templates in Intrexx in the "Applications" module ("File > New Application..."). Select Application Templates
	To enable data to be stored in an application, you must add at least one data group to the application. Read more Data groups represent a database table. Data Groups
	Pages represent the core components of an application's user interface.Read more Intrexx applications consist of input and view pages. On input pages, you can create input and display elements and save the entered data by clicking a button. Data can only be displayed on view pages. Create Pages
	Elements are building blocks that you use to implement an application's functionality. Read more Elements include text boxes, buttons, input fields, drop-down lists, and file selection boxes, among others. Elements
	An important function of an application is the (clear) display of data. Read more View pages and the elements designed for this purpose—such as view tables—are among the options suitable for displaying data. View Data
	To allow users to access the application pages, you must add them to the application menu. Read more By adding the pages to the application menu, you enable navigation within the application. This allows users to navigate between the different pages. Application Menu

	To make an application part of the portal and accessible to portal users, you must publish it.Read more When published, the application is generated as it appears in the portal and becomes part of the portal. Even if you make changes to the application, you must publish it. Publish Applications

Other Things to Keep in Mind

You should keep the following aspects in mind when developing applications.

	You should create responsive applications. Read more A responsive website allows the content to be displayed in a way that adapts to the size of the browser window.
