Quick Links

The "Quick Links " application template can be used to create links to internal and external websites. To learn how to import the template, see: Importing Online Application Templates.

Roles

Roles are automatically created when the template is imported.

App_Quick Links_User

Members with this role can access the Quick Links page, where all quick links are available. You can create personal quick links that are visible only to you.

App_Quicklinks_Manager

Members with this role also have access to the " Administration" page, where quick links are created and managed. In addition, the role includes all permissions from the App_Quicklinks_User role.

On the Administration page, you can create general quick links that can be shared with other portal users.

Home

Quick links can be displayed as tiles or as a list. By default, both the tiles and the list are displayed on the Quick Links home page. If desired, either view can be easily disabled by removing the corresponding portlet (Quick Link Tiles or Quick Link List). You can find instructions on how to do this here: Portlet Settings - Administration - Apps.

Create General Quick Links

Members of the App_Quicklinks_Manager role can create general quicklinks on the Administration page.

Step-by-Step

  1. Click Create.

  2. Enter the desired URL and a title for the quick link. The title will appear later on the Quicklink tile or Quicklink bar.

  3. Select the users for whom you want the quick link to be available. The quick link will only appear on the home page for the selected users once you select them here.

  4. Optionally, an icon and a background color can be used.

  5. Click Save.

The quick link is now listed in the table on the Administration page.

By clicking " Edit " next to " ," you can edit the quick link and delete it if necessary.

On the Quick Links homepage, the new general quick link is visible to authorized users.

Create Personal Quick Links

Personal quick links appear on the app's home screen and are visible only to the person who created the quick link.

Step-by-Step

  1. Click on " " to create a personal quick link.

  2. Enter the desired URL and a title for the quick link.

  3. Optionally, an icon and a background color can be used.

  4. Click Save.

When you hover over a tile, the "Edit" button appears both on the tile and in the list at . You can use this button to edit the quick link or delete it if necessary.
