Surveys

In the "Surveys" module, for example, opinions and trends can be identified through surveys. If you're looking for a date that works for everyone, you can also use this feature to let others vote on suggested dates.

1. Navigation

Click "Surveys" in the navigation bar to open the module.

2. Surveys

In this section, you can view all surveys. The amount of information varies depending on what data the survey creator has entered and whether or not a user has participated in the survey.

For each survey, the survey's current status is displayed as follows:

  • "Not published" (Survey was created as a draft)

  • "This survey is anonymous."

  • "Vote"

  • For polls that other users have already voted on: “View Results and Vote”

3. Filter

Here, you can filter the surveys by category or, by clicking the calendar icon, by creation date. Expired polls can be viewed in the archive.

4. Categories

You can create or edit categories here. This feature is available only to administrators or Intrexx Share administrators.

Categories should be defined before the "Surveys" module is used for the first time so that users can use them.

5. Create a Survey

Click this button to create a new poll.

Create a Survey

Creating a survey is divided into two dialog boxes. In the first dialog box, enter the general survey information and the start and end dates of the survey. Once the survey has expired, it is automatically archived and can be extended via the dialog box if necessary. A survey can be assigned to a category. The "New Category" link is visible only to the administrator. Click "Next."

Options / Suggested Dates

Here you can specify whether your survey should include "options" or "suggested dates" as possible answers. For both types, you can also assign a description, files, or a color, which will then be used in the survey results.

Visibility

Surveys can be made publicly available to all Intrexx Share users or restricted to a select group of people. If you distribute the survey to an Intrexx Share group (restricted), the users of the Share group are kept in sync with the survey (see User Synchronization).

Participation should be anonymous

With this option, survey participants' responses remain anonymous. Even administrators cannot view the identities of survey participants.

Participants can add additional options

If this option is selected, survey participants can add additional answer choices to the survey for all users.

Participants can vote for multiple options

With this setting, users can vote for more than one of the options.

Save as Draft / Publish

If the "Save as Draft" option is selected, the survey is visible only to the creator and is not published. The survey will be marked as "Unpublished." Only when the "Publish" option is selected will the survey be made available and visible to the selected group of people. With this setting, users can add additional options to the survey themselves.

Survey Details

Files

Here you'll find all the files that were added in the survey itself and in the comments.

Options

When the creator of a question clicks "Options," a menu appears that allows them to further edit the survey or modify its settings. "Copy Link" copies a link to the survey to the clipboard.

If a user has not yet participated in a poll, the "Vote" button appears at the top of the poll. At this point, only the comments and "Likes" posted by survey participants are visible.

Once the vote is complete, the result will be displayed at the bottom of the page.

In an anonymous survey, the analysis shows only the number of participants for each response option.

For non-anonymous polls, the participants' voting results are also analyzed.

Set a date in a scheduling survey

Once a scheduling poll has been created and the voting period has ended, the poll creator can use the "Set Date Now" button that appears to set a date for the poll.

News Feed Polls Plugin

Once a date has been set, the survey creator can also use the "News" module in the plugin to create an event directly from the survey. You can find more information about plugins here.
