Creating a Portal - Key Steps

Below is an overview of the key steps you typically need to follow when creating a portal.

In the general settings, you specify the portal name and the directory where the portal is to be installed, among other things. Read more
Portal-specific files are stored in the portal directory. The portal name does not match the URL you use to access the portal in your browser. You specify the URL on the front-end web server.

To create a portal, you must select a portal template.Read more
In Intrexx, you have access to a standard template (local) and several online templates that you can download and then use.

In this step, you must select the database or database server where the portal data is to be stored. Read more
The following databases are available in the standard system:
1. PostgreSQL (recommended by Intrexx)
2. MariaDB
3. Microsoft SQL Server
4. Oracle (You must install the Oracle driver yourself.)

For production portals, it is highly recommended to use a front-end web server. By default, you can choose between IIS (Windows) and NGINX (Linux).Read more
For test or development portals, you can skip setting up a front-end web server and select the "No front-end web server" option.

The portal's search function uses "Solr," the search server from Apache. Read more
You may want to use the default Solr settings or configure them to suit your needs.

This step displays the settings you have configured. If necessary, you can adjust or change the settings again.Read more
Under "Advanced Settings," you can also initiate the installation of the Intrexx Administration API (install IAA via the graphical user interface).
