Connector for SAP Gateway - Consuming Data

Here you can learn how to configure a connection for the SAP Gateway connector.

General Information

A new connection can be created in the "Integration" module via the main menu option "SAP Gateway/New Data Source. " To do this, the connector for SAP Gateway must be selected under "Consume Data" in the left pane.

In the general information section, you can specify the name and a description of the new connection.

The available authentication methods are the same as those found in the OData connector.

If you want to set a connection timeout, first set the "Active" option, and then enter the desired duration.

Click "Next."

Configuring Connection Settings

Enter the host URL and port here. If you want to use SSL, enable this setting.

SAP Client

Standard

Creates a standard connection.

Client ID

If necessary, the client ID can be entered here.

Click "Next."

On-Demand Services

This section displays the name, description, and root URI of the services available on the specified connection.

Click "Finish."

SAP Gateway Services

The names and root URIs of all selected services are listed here.

Add an on-demand service

Reopens the dialog box where you can select available services.

/ Edit Service

Opens a dialog box where you can add services.

Record Service

Enter the name and URL of the service here.

Use Etag

Enable this setting if so-called ETag headers need to be set for data manipulation.

Requires an SAP Gateway CSFR token

Set this option if you want the service to request and use so-called cross-site request forgery (CSRF tokenss from the SAP system for data manipulation.

Click "Finish" to save your changes and close the dialog box.

Remove Service

Removes the currently selected service, provided that this service is not being used by any applications or processes.

Click "Next."

SAP System Landscape Directory

SAP-certified software components are required to register in SAP Solution Manager. In the event of a problem, this allows SAP Support to perform a quick and easy analysis. To do this, all relevant information about the software component is entered in the SAP System Landscape Directory. You can obtain the information needed for registration from your SAP administrator. Here you can register the connector in the SAP System Landscape Directory. To do this, enter the SAP System Landscape Directory system parameters.

Click "Next."

Edit Connection

Every connection you've created is listed in the right-hand pane. From the "SAP Gateway" main menu, you can access all editing functions when an existing connection is selected in the right-hand pane.

The "Data Groups" column displays the number of data groups that are integrated with external data groups in applications.
