Daemon account
The term "daemon" is used in the context of Linux systems. This often refers to processes that run silently in the background of the system. However, they can also be normal programs.
The term "service" is also used as an alternative to the term "daemon".
Intrexx is run as a service on Linux. After installation, the following services are available:
Solr
After you have created a portal, there is also a service that has the same name as the portal. For example:
exampleportal
When installing Intrexx on Linux, you must assign a user to the Intrexx services. This is the daemon account. Specifically, you can specify the "root" or a (technical) user such as "intrexx".
