Updating from Intrexx Silent Track 21.03 to Intrexx Steady Track

Below you will find a description for the update from Silent Track 21.03 to Intrexx Silent Track 2023 ("Silent 2023")Intrexx SteadyTrack. It is assumed that you install SteadyTrack in the directory in which you have also installed the Intrexx Silent Track 21.03 version ("over-installation").

This update is the last time you will need to download a setup file from Intrexx Support Center and then run setup.exe or setup.sh.

Future updates for Intrexx Steady Track will be carried out using a new procedure. If updates are available, you will be informed via a message window in the Portal Manager. You can download the update while continuing to work. You can install the update afterwards. During installation, your portal will not be available to portal users. Steady Track checks whether an update is available on the Intrexx Download Manager at startup.

Test system
Perform the update on a test system first. Also note that production systems and test and development systems should be implemented on separate Intrexx Portal Servers.

Download Setup for Intrexx Steady Track

Download the installation package for Intrexx Steady Track at Intrexx Support Center under "Intrexx Downloads > Intrexx Releases > Steady Track". Unzip the installation package.

Update the existing installation 21.03 to Intrexx Steady Track

Step-by-step guide

  1. Run the setup.exe file as administrator ("Right-click > Run as administrator").
    the start dialog for the Intrexx setup is displayed.

  2. Click on "Next".

    The dialog with the license conditions is displayed.

  3. Agree to the terms of the License Agreement.

  4. Click on "Next".

    The "Installation path" dialog box appears.

  5. Select as the installation directory, the one in which you already installed Intrexx.

  6. Click on "Next".

    The "Installation" dialog box appears.

    Numerous changes can be found in the "Installation" dialog.

    Previously, you could change the installation path in this dialog. This is no longer possible.

    The settings for configuring the portal server are no longer necessary, as Steady Track no longer contains the Supervisor.

    Steady Track , the Intrexx Portal Server authenticates itself to the Solr search server with a user and password. This was not the case by default in the previous versions.

    The software update takes place in Steady Track via a new procedure. This is configured in the Portal Manager.

    Administration API

    During the installation of Steady Track , you can also install the "Intrexx Administration API".

    a. Click on "Packages to install" if you want to install the Administration API.

    The "Select components" dialog box appears.

    b. Activate "Intrexx Administration API".

    c. Click on "Finish".

    Apache Solr search server

    Steady Track , the Intrexx Portal Server authenticates itself to the Solr search server with a user and password.

    Detailed information on the configuration of the "Apache Solr Search Server" can be found in section Solr Search Server.

    a. Click on "Apache Solr Search Server".

    The "Solr configuration" dialog box is displayed.

    b. Change the password.

    c. Click on "OK".

  7. Click on "Start".

    The "Update notes" dialog box appears.

    Read and confirm the update notes.
    Be sure to create a backup before performing the update.

  8. Click on "OK".

    The "Installation" dialog box appears.

    The "Patch the portals" dialog is displayed during installation.

    Existing portals will be updated or patched to the new Intrexx version.

  9. Click on "OK" as soon as the button is active.

    You will return to the "Installation" dialog.

  10. Click on "Finish" as soon as the button is active.

    The "Finish installation" dialog box appears.

    In the lower area of the dialog, the existing portals are displayed with the corresponding ports.
    Make a note of the ports.

    Download the portal information to the clipboard via the icon. Then paste the information from the clipboard into an editor. For example, the information may look like this:

    Steady Track , you need to know the port of a portal in order to be able to connect to it via the Portal Manager.

  11. Click on "Finish".

    If you have activated the "Start Intrexx Portal Manager" checkbox, Intrexx will be restarted.
