How to Run Intrexx
Intrexx Platform as a Service (PaaS)
In this option, INTREXX GmbH is responsible for operating the portal server, the portals running on it, and all the necessary infrastructure. All components of this deployment are hosted in a German data center.
With the PaaS option, there is no installation effort required on your part. All updates are performed by INTREXX GmbH. You also don't need to purchase or maintain third-party software, so you can focus entirely on developing solutions for your business.
Intrexx as a Container Deployment
You can also run Intrexx as a Docker container. We have provided comprehensive instructions for this on github.com. You can orchestrate this container, for example, using Kubernetes or on a virtual machine with Docker Compose. The container version allows for quick and easy deployment of Intrexx, both on your local infrastructure and with a cloud provider of your choice.

Classic Setup - On-Premises
You can also install Intrexx on your local infrastructure or in your (own) cloud using a traditional setup. In this case, download the Intrexx setup files from Intrexx Support Center and then run the installation.
With the on-premises version, you are responsible for installing, operating, and updating your Intrexx instance.
If you decide to use the on-premises version, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the Intrexx architecture. In addition to installing Intrexx, you'll need third-party software—such as a database system and a web server—to run Intrexx.
You can run Intrexx in a Windows or Linux environment.
For all versions, it is helpful to have a basic understanding of the two core components of Intrexx—the Intrexx Portal Server and the Intrexx Portal Manager—and how they work together. This is described in the following section, " Intrexx Components - Portal Server and Portal Manager."
