In content implemented with markup languages, the purpose of user interface components, icons, and regions can be programmatically determined.

Detailed implementation

The "regions" aspect of a portal or application page is discussed in more detail below. Regions are the areas of a page to which the "Landmark" role is assigned.

Landmarks

Certain areas of portal and application pages can be marked with landmarks or roles. The main landmarks include banners, navigation, main and content info.

When using the Accessible Layout, key landmarks are preconfigured.

You can also assign landmarks manually.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Start the "Design" module.

  2. Open the layout you want to use.

  3. In the structure view, select the element to which you want to assign a landmark ().

  4. Select the desired landmark in the "Role" selection field in the element settings ().
