Release tracks

Since fall 2021, you can choose between two release tracks in Intrexx: the Steady Track and the Silent Track.

Track technology

Release tracks generally offer the option of delivering the same software in different "paths".

The paths differ in the speed or frequency of the intervals in which new versions are made available. Generally, track technology also changes Intrexx updates. With track technology, you (no longer) need to download a setup file from the Intrexx Support Center in order to unpack and install it afterwards. Instead, you will see in Intrexx that a new version is available. While this is being downloaded via the Intrexx Download Manager, you can continue working in Intrexx.

Silent Track and Steady Track

By choosing a track, you decide how quickly and how often you want to receive new features for Intrexx.

Steady Track

In the case of the Intrexx Steady Track, agility comes to the fore. You will receive new features every month. You benefit from updates as soon as they are developed, so you are always up-todate.

Silent Track

In the case of the Intrexx Silent Track, continuity comes to the fore. Throughout the year, you will only receive bug fixes. Once per year, at "sync time", you will receive new features that are already included in Steady Track.

Sync time

"Sync time" takes place once a year. This is when the Steady Track and the Silent Track are synchronized with each other. The features that have been developed for and implemented in the Steady Track over the last 12 months are now also being integrated into the Silent Track. This means that at sync time the Steady Track and the Silent Track have the same status.

At one of these so-called sync times you can switch from Steady Track to Silent Track. (You can switch from Silent Track to Steady Track at any time)

After the sync time, the two Intrexx tracks will follow separate paths again. The Steady Track will continue to receive new features every month, while the Silent Track will only receive bug fixes.

After a year, at the next sync time, the Silent Track and Steady Track will be synchronized again.

Silent Track and Steady Track versioning

Silent Track and Steady Track differ in versioning.

Silent Track

Until March 2023, the version information includes the track, version, and patch level. The patch level corresponds to the last installed online update.

After sync time in March 2023, the versioning is equal to the Steady Track. The "minor version" is what distinguishes the Silent Track from the Steady Track. The silent track always has "0" as the minor version. The patch level increases after each update.

Steady Track

The patch level for the Steady Track is always "0". The minor version increases after each update.

How to find your track and version
